Madaa Creative Center in Silwan organized a workshop for children entitled “The Balfour Promise - The Promise of those who do not belong to those who do not deserve” in the branch of “Ein Al Loza – Silwan”, in which more than 20 children participated.
The staff discussed with the children the Balfour Declaration in terms of its nature, history and impact. They read to the children the letter sent by then British Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to one of the leaders of the Zionist movement on November 2, 1917, in which he referred to the support of the British government for the establishment of a national homeland for Jews in Palestine.
In a related context, the center of Ein Al Loza branch in Silwan organized an event entitled “Protection” which included a game for children, where each child chose another child to protect from the ball thrown at him/her.
The objective of the event was for the child to choose a person he trusted and felt safe with. The staff discussed with the children where they should go if they ever wanted to ask for help.
