The Cultural Department in Madaa Creative Center set up a weekly course with the title “Creative Writing” for children between the ages of (10-15). About 15 children, male and female, participated in this course, and the group was divided into beginners and advanced levels.

The course aims to provide an opportunity for children who love to read and who have the ability to write well and to express themselves through reading and writing.

Anas Maswadeh, age 14, told Madaa site that he has been reading poems for years, but today, after two years of his participation in Creative Writing, he can write poetry in a simplified manner.  

Sadeen Qara’een, age 15, said: “Creative Writing added a lot to my life, anytime something bothered me I would write about it to express my feelings through writing.”

Tala Sarhan who is in charge of the library said: “Creative Writing worked on the development of children and motivated them to write short stories, essays, poems, and opinions. The rate of children's development in two years, i.e. ever since the course began, has become dramatically noticeable. In the near future we will work on creating a magazine for these chldren that will include their writings.”
