Madaa Creative Center organized an introductory tour of the town of Silwan on Saturday for the women assemble, “Initiative Jerusalemite Women”.

Before the tour the feminist group visited Madaa Creative Center, and they were welcomed by the center's director, Jawad Siyam, and the working staff. They were informed of the center’s activities, objectives, its various events with women and children, its future vision, and its different projects.

After that the staff took the “Initiative Jerusalemite Women” to a tour in Silwan, where Mahmoud Qaraeen from the center, gave a presentation to them about the history of the town, its population, its neighborhoods, and the various settlement schemes occurring there. Such settlement schemes include the confiscation and seizing of homes and lands, the establishment of a biblical garden, and the demolishment of entire neighborhoods.

During the tour, the group met with Adnan Ghaith, secretary general of Fatah in Silwan. He spoke to them about the suffering of the population during the last month of Israeli practices. Such practices include campaigns of inspection and arrests, daily raids, and cutting water.

At the end of the visit, Suad al-Halabi - one of the establishers of the group - thanked the staff of Madaa Center and praised the center’s role and various activities that take into account all segments of society, hoping that she would continue communicating and cooperating with the center.
