The committee “Sawa Sawa” organized a soccer tournament for children and youth at the Friends Boys fields in the city of Al- Bireh, in collaboration with the Sports for Life Foundation, the Friends Schools, and GIZ’s sports program for development and it is commissioned by the Germany Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Jaffa Cultural Center – Balata refugee Camp, Nablus, won first place in the soccer tournament, “Sawa Sawa”. "Friends School" won second place, and “Madaa Creative Center- Silwan” won third place.
Nidal Abu Rmeileh, a player in Madaa Creative Center team, won the title of “best player”, knowing that seven teams had participated in the tournament.
At the end of the tournament, the members of the committee "Sawa Sawa" honored participants by distributing trophies to the teams that won the first three ranks, and the player Abu Rmeileh; all other players were also honored and given medals.
“Sawa Sawa” was established by institutions that are partnered with the Civil Peace Service Program (ZFD) that subordinates to GIZ, which are: Grass Cultural Center (Bethlehem), Madaa Creative Center (Silwan-Jerusalem), the Palestinian Child Center (Shuafat Camp- Jerusalem), and the Cultural Center of Jaffa (Balata refugee camp, Nablus). “Sawa Sawa” includes a steering committee represented by partnered organizations that work on planning, organizing and implementing.
